  • Before starting your Laser Permanent Makeup Removal journey, a Consultation and Patch Test is required at least 48 hours prior to your first session. This important step ensures that we can safely customise the treatment to suit your skin type and ink colours.

During your consultation and patch test, we will review your medical history and assess your suitability.

We will explain the process in detail, and provide guidance on how to prepare for treatment, along with essential aftercare tips. This is also a great time to ask any questions you may have, so you feel fully informed and confident before beginning your treatment journey with us.

The Consultation and Patch Test takes approximately 30 minutes. We cannot perform treatment until this has been carried out.

    • It is imperative that you do not expose your eyebrows and the surrounding area to the sun/sunbeds for at least 30 days prior to treatment.

    • Several weeks before treatment, you should take extra precautions to protect yourself from the sun. A high SPF 30+ sun cream should be applied every time you go outdoors.

    • You must avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours before your treatment.

    • Avoid caffeine for at least 24 hours before your treatment.

    • Eat well and drink lots of water so that you are well hydrated before your treatment.

    • Do not take any anticoagulant (blood thinning) medication for at least 48 hours before your treatment, this includes Ibuprofen and Aspirin. If you have been advised to take such medication by a Doctor you must follow their advice and inform the clinic as soon as possible before your appointment.

    • Smoking can delay the healing process, we recommend that you avoid smoking for a minimum of 4 hours before your treatment - but the longer you can go the better!

    • Do not use any tanning cream on the area to be treated for at least 30 days prior to treatment.

    • Do not use any AHA, BHA, Retinol or exfoliating skincare products in the area to be treated for the timescale recommended by your practitioner - this is usually a minimum of 2 weeks before treatment depending on the strength of the product.

    • It is normal to experience pinpoint bleeding, redness, swelling and tenderness post treatment - so you may wish to bring sunglasses and a cap to wear straight after your appointment.

    • Clear your schedule for the next few days - it is important that you go home and relax whilst your skin is healing post treatment. You may not feel like going to the shops so ensure that you have appropriate provisions prepared at home.

    • Change your bedding, towels and pillow cases on the day of your treatment to ensure they are clean - this will help to prevent contamination to the area.

    • After your treatment you will need to avoid getting the area soaking wet - so wash your hair in the morning before your appointment.

    • Ensure that you have a sterile cold compress in the freezer at home - as you may wish to apply this to the area post treatment.

    • On the day of your treatment - cleanse, moisturise and apply SPF to your skin as usual in the morning. Do not apply any makeup. Your practitioner will thoroughly clean the area at the start of your treatment.

    • You can expect mild to moderate pinpoint bleeding, redness, swelling and tenderness - these symptoms may appear immediately or a few days after treatment, this is normal. Healing time varies for each individual, no guarantee can be given as to how long it will take an individual to fully heal post treatment. It can generally take 8-12 weeks for the skin to fully heal.

    • We will do our best to avoid any eyebrow hair - however some hairs may be touched by the laser. Some whitening of the hair is likely to occur during the laser treatment - this is temporary.

    • It is imperative that you do not expose your eyebrows and the surrounding area to the sun/sunbeds for at least 30 days post treatment.

    • You should wear a baseball cap or sunhat if going out in the sun for the first 2 weeks after treatment to keep your eyebrows in the shade. After 2 weeks, a high SPF 30+ sun cream should be applied.

    • Do not take any anti-inflammatory products for 7 days post treatment - this includes Ibuprofen and Aspirin.

    • Avoid all heat treatments for 7 days post treatment - this includes steam rooms, saunas, hot baths, hot showers and intense exercise.

    • The use of 99.9% Aloe Vera Gel is recommended directly after treatment and for a further few days if necessary. Before applying - wash your hands thoroughly then use a new clean cotton pad to gently apply the product - do not rub the treated area. You should use a new cotton pad for each eyebrow.

    • A sterile ice cold compress can be applied if the area feels hot or uncomfortable. Please ensure it is thoroughly cleaned before and after each use. You should wrap the cold compress in a new clean tissue per eyebrow - to avoid direct contact with the skin and prevent infection/contamination risk.

    • Avoid getting the area wet for 24 hours. After 24 hours - you should then wash your hands thoroughly before soaking a new, clean cotton pad in cold, fresh water. Use a new cotton pad for each eyebrow and gently wipe each eyebrow clean. Once the area is clean - you can then reapply Aloe Vera Gel using a new, clean cotton pad for each eyebrow. This process should be repeated morning and night whilst the skin is healing.

    • Avoid getting the area soaking wet for at least 48 hours - do not stand with your head directly under the shower etc.

    • Do not apply any makeup to your eyebrows or surrounding area and avoid all perfumed creams, soaps and lotions on the area for the first 2 weeks after treatment. After 2 weeks - you must ensure hands are thoroughly cleaned before application. If you use makeup brushes they must be cleaned before and after every use to prevent infection.

    • Prevent contamination – do not touch the area and make sure it doesn’t come into contact with any unsterile surface.

    • Always wash your hands thoroughly before applying skincare products and touching any area of the face. You must only apply products recommended and for the timescale recommended by your practitioner.

    • Be mindful when coming into contact with pets and children - do not let them touch your face.

    • Do not touch, pick or scratch the area.

    • Ensure glasses/sunglasses are cleaned regularly and before each use.

    • Try to sleep on your back and ensure that your bedding and pillow cases are clean.

    • Ensure that you drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. We also recommend drinking chamomile tea post treatment.

    • Smoking can delay the healing process, so we recommend that you avoid smoking if possible.

    • Take it easy and get lots of rest after your treatment to help your body recover - avoid intense exercise for 48 hours.

    • Don’t get any facials or beauty treatments in or around the treated area for the timescale recommended by your practitioner.

  • “I just can not speak highly enough of India. I was so incredibly unhappy with my semi permanent make up I’d had done elsewhere, and found India who provides the best semi permanent make up removal service. So very kind and gentle and caring and most important of all empathetic. My little journey with India to get back to the eyebrows I love has so far been incredible.”

  • “I will never be able to completely express my gratitude towards India for my brows! After having microblading done (horrifically) elsewhere and being left embarrassed and trying to hide my brows as much as I could, I sought help from India. It took a few sessions of Saline Removal but then I was finally able to have the most amazing brows! India makes the whole experience personal, pain free and puts you at ease through out. It’s now always my priority to book maintenance treatments to keep them as amazing! My brows have never been complemented upon so much and I couldn’t be happier with them!”

FAQs

  • Without knowing what type of pigment was used, how much or how deeply the pigment was implanted into your skin – and because skin types vary – it is impossible to know how many treatments will be needed to achieve satisfactory results. No guarantee can be given as to how many sessions will be required for any individual. However, most clients generally notice a significant amount of colour has been removed even after just one treatment.

The main differences between cosmetic tattooing and traditional body tattoos are the techniques and types of ink compounds used; fortunately, cosmetic tattoos are usually much easier to remove, and most cosmetic eyebrow treatments take between 1-3 laser sessions, spaced at 8-12-week intervals.

  • If you have only just had your eyebrows tattooed/microbladed, your skin needs a minimum of at least 8-12 weeks to heal before you start Laser PMU Removal treatment. This period is vital to allow the ink to settle down in the dermis so that the colours are clearly visible on your skin. As an alternative treatment - you may be suitable for Emergency Saline Removal.

For best results, Emergency Saline Removal must be carried out as soon as possible - so if you have just had your eyebrows tattooed you must contact the clinic immediately to make an emergency appointment.

  • Laser PMU Removal is perfect for removal of permanent inks - the laser breaks the pigment into tiny particles, which the body is then able to dispose of. This method often sees a much quicker result than Saline Removal.

Saline PMU Removal involves Microneedling the area with a saline solution – which gently draws the pigment to the surface and exfoliates it away. This process is best for when semi-permanent pigments were used. Eyebrow tattoos/Microblading may appear slightly lighter after just one treatment - although this treatment usually takes multiple procedures to achieve desired results depending on which pigment was used, how much pigment was implanted and how deep that pigment was implanted into your skin.

  • Laser PMU Removal treatment can be uncomfortable, however it is very quick and only takes a few minutes per eyebrow and anaesthetic is not required. We cool the skin with ice before, during and after the treatment. It is normal to feel heat and the sensation is often compared to the feeling of a rubber band snapping against your skin. We always allow plenty of time for each appointment so that you can take breaks in between shots, if required.

  • After treatment it’s normal to experience minor to moderate pinpoint bleeding, redness, swelling, tenderness and even blisters - these symptoms may appear immediately or a few days after. It is important not to pick the scabs and pop the blisters or you risk scarring. It is also normal to experience scabbing as the skin heals. We strongly recommend planning your appointment around any social commitments.

Healing time varies for each individual, no guarantee can be given as to how long it will take an individual to fully heal post treatment. Surface healing normally takes up to 2 weeks, in most cases the skin should return back to normal within 5-7 days. Inner healing takes longer - it can generally take 6-8 weeks for the skin to fully heal.

  • Your immune system recognises the presence of foreign material (such as tattoo ink) as soon as you were tattooed - but the ink particles are too large for the body to eliminate. Our laser's job is to shatter the larger ink particles into smaller ones that can then be excreted through your body’s natural immune system.

During each tattoo removal session, the high-intensity light emitted by our medical grade ND YAG Laser is absorbed by the tattoo pigment - which results in the breakdown of the ink so that it can be removed naturally by your immune system.

  • The first step is a one-to-one consultation. We will assess your permanent makeup/microblading, discuss your goals, check your medical history and assess your suitability for the procedure.

During your consultation, all of the pre-treatment advice and aftercare will also be discussed. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions so that you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.

A test patch must always be carried out before your treatment to determine the treatment parameters and to judge how your skin might react to a full treatment. This is important because it enables us to assess whether your skin is responding as would be expected. Assuming your skin settles well following the patch test you can return for your full treatment after 48 hours.

  • The ink usually used for semi-permanent tattoos consists of a variety of compounds made up of the primary colours; red, yellow and blue. At your first session we will use a filter to target the darker blue ink. It is not unusual for the iron used in tattoo compounds, (in particular cosmetic tattoos) to oxidise when treated with a laser, therefore you can expect your tattoo to temporarily turn into a rusty brown / orange / pink colour after the first or second laser treatment; this is nothing to worry about. At subsequent treatments we will use a different filter to target the remaining red and yellow pigment, if required.

  • You need to wait a minimum of 8 weeks in between each session to allow the skin enough time to fully heal. In some cases, we may recommend waiting longer in between, particularly for more mature or sensitive skin. Your practitioner will be able to advise you.

  • Yes, once enough pigment has been removed and your skin has fully healed.

You will need to wait a minimum of 12 weeks to allow the skin time to fully heal before having new Permanent Eyebrow Makeup.
