Microneedling

Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, Skin Needling and Dermal Needling) is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment - designed to regenerate, remodel and repair the skin naturally. It is highly effective at treating fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, acne scaring, enlarged pores, sun damage and pigmentation.

At the India Gabrielle Clinic, we use the most advanced method of Microneedling - the Dermapen. This technique involves using an adjustable, disposable needle cartridge to penetrate the dermis at a controlled depth, with hundreds of micro-needles which deliver controlled trauma through tiny micro-perforations to the skin.

As a result, Microneedling will stimulate the skin’s natural healing response, which is to produce collagen, elastin and fibroblasts - which, over time, will lead to healthier, rejuvenated and more youthful looking skin.

Post-Treatment Routine:

  • A prior skin consultation before booking a Microneedling treatment isn't mandatory, but they are available to book if you would prefer to find out more about the treatment or to discuss your skin concerns and goals beforehand.

We do recommend scheduling a prior consultation if you have any health conditions or if you are taking medication, as it allows us to assess your suitability before booking your treatment.

Every Microneedling appointment begins with a thorough consultation by our practitioners - to explain the treatment, assess your skin and answer any questions you may have.

Upon booking your treatment, full pre and post treatment advice will be emailed directly to you - to ensure you understand how to fully prepare for your treatment. It is imperative that you fully follow this advice to ensure treatment can go ahead on the day of your appointment. If you have any questions, please do contact us ahead of your appointment.

Your safety and satisfaction is our top priority, so we also require clients to complete a medical consent form, which our practitioners review carefully to ensure suitability before proceeding with any treatment. Your practitioner will also discuss how to care for your skin after treatment during your appointment.

    • Your skin may be pink or red post treatment so we advise scheduling your appointment on a day when you do not have any social commitments straight after or the following day.

I really appreciated your honesty about what could be achieved - though you exceeded all my expectations - and how long it would take. Now I hold my chin up high rather than looking down when I meet new people."

FAQs

  • Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves using ultra fine needles to deliver controlled trauma to the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural healing response, promoting the production of collagen, elastin and fibroblasts to improve overall skin tone and texture, reduce lines, wrinkles, scars and stretch marks.

  • Yes, Microneedling can be combined with other treatments to provide more comprehensive skin rejuvenation. However, other treatments are typically not performed on the same day. The amount of time you need to allow between appointments depends on the specific treatments being combined. Consult with your practitioner to determine the best treatment plan for your needs.

  • The number of Microneedling sessions recommended varies based on your skin concerns and goals. It also depends on your individual healing response to the treatment, general health, lifestyle factors (such as smoking, alcohol consumption, stress and sun exposure etc.), and your skincare routine.

    Generally, we recommend:

    • For general skin rejuvenation: A minimum of 4-6 sessions, spaced no sooner than 6 weeks apart.

    • For lines and wrinkles or acne scarring: A minimum of 6-8 sessions, spaced no sooner than 6 weeks apart.

    • For deep wrinkles, skin laxity, stretch marks, or deep scarring: A minimum of 8-10 sessions, spaced no sooner than 6 weeks apart.

Maintenance sessions every 6-12 months are recommended to sustain the benefits.

  • After a microneedling treatment, collagen, elastin, and fibroblast production continues to build over the next 4-6 weeks. To ensure optimal results and proper healing, we require that your next appointment be scheduled no sooner than 6 weeks after your last session.

  • It depends on the size of the area you are having treated. We always allow plenty of time at the start of each appointment for a consultation.

Full Face: Up to 1 hour total appointment time.

Full Face & Neck: Up to 1 hour and 15 minutes total appointment time.

Full Face, Neck & Decolletage: Up to 1.5 hour total appointment time.

Full details can be found on our booking page.

  • Microneedling can cause some discomfort, but it is generally well-tolerated by most people. We do not use numbing cream because it's important for your skin to fully register the controlled micro-trauma to effectively stimulate the healing response. You may experience some redness and sensitivity, similar to a mild sunburn, which typically subsides within a couple of days.

  • Microneedling has minimal downtime. After the procedure, you may experience redness and mild swelling, similar to a sunburn, which usually subsides within 1-3 days. Your skin may also feel slightly sensitive and tight during this time and you may experience some light peeling and flaking. Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment, although it's important to follow the full post-treatment advice.
