Laser Tattoo Removal
We specialise in Laser Tattoo Removal for all skin tones and ink colours, using our medical-grade Flash Ink+ ND Yag Laser - produced by AW3 Allwhite Lasers, a globally renowned UK manufacturer of medical-grade laser technology. This state-of-the-art machine offers superior results, with enhanced safety features and uncompromised quality.
Our Laser Tattoo Removal process uses short and intense pulses of light energy to target and break down tattoo ink pigments in the skin. As the laser energy is absorbed by the ink, it heats and shatters the pigment into tiny particles. These particles are then gradually eliminated by the body’s immune system through the lymphatic system in the weeks following treatment.
Our AW3 certified laser specialists are qualified to the highest level and have received direct training from the manufacturer, ensuring professional expertise and optimal results for every client.

Before starting your Laser Tattoo Removal journey, a Consultation and Patch Test is required at least 48 hours prior to your first session. This important step ensures that we can safely customise the treatment to suit your skin type and ink colours.
During your consultation and patch test, we will review your medical history and assess your suitability for Laser Tattoo Removal, as well as measure the size of the tattoo to provide a price quote.
We will explain the process in detail, and provide guidance on how to prepare for treatment, along with essential aftercare tips. This is also a great time to ask any questions you may have, so you feel fully informed and confident before beginning your treatment journey with us.
The Consultation and Patch Test takes approximately 30 minutes. We cannot perform treatment until this has been carried out.

Hydration and Nutrition:
Ensure you are well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water and eating well before your treatment. This will aid in the recovery process.

Pain Management:
Do not apply any topical numbing cream to the area prior to your appointment.
If possible, schedule your treatment when you are not due on your menstrual cycle, as sensitivity to pain may increase during this time. If this is not possible, don’t worry—it will just be a little more uncomfortable.

Have a sterile cold compress ready at home for post-treatment care.
Inform your practitioner of any changes to your medical history or any upcoming or recent aesthetic, medical, or beauty treatments on the area to be treated.

Common Post-Treatment Symptoms:
Warmth, redness, swelling, itching, irritation, and tenderness: These symptoms are normal and may occur immediately or a few days after treatment.
Scabbing, swelling, and bleeding: These symptoms may happen but are temporary. Scabs should be left to heal naturally.
Crust Formation ('Dirty Skin' Appearance): The treated area may appear darker or crusty, this is a common part of the healing process.
Blisters: Blisters may form as part of healing. Do not pick, scratch, or burst them to prevent infection. Keep blisters clean and dry, allowing them to heal naturally.
Aftercare Instructions:
Aloe Vera Gel: Use 99.9% Pure Aloe Vera Gel immediately after treatment and for a few days afterward if necessary. Only use the product purchased from the clinic, as other products may contain ingredients that irritate the skin.
Cold Compress: Apply a sterile, cold compress if the area feels hot or uncomfortable. Ensure it is cleaned before and after each use. Avoid direct contact with skin and do not use a hot compress.
Sun Protection: Protect the treated area from sun/UV exposure for at least 6 weeks post-treatment. The skin should remain fully covered during healing, and afterward, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen whenever exposed to sunlight.
Sunbeds and Sunbathing: You must avoid sunbeds and sunbathing for at least 6 weeks following your treatment.
Medications: Do not take anti-inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen or Aspirin for 7 days post-treatment. Paracetamol and antihistamines may be taken within recommended guidelines if needed.
Heat Exposure: For 48 hours post-treatment, avoid hot showers, hot baths, steam rooms, saunas, and strenuous exercise. These can aggravate the treated area and delay healing.
Swimming: Avoid swimming until the skin is fully healed to prevent irritation and infection.
Avoid Water Exposure: Keep the treated area dry for the first 24-48 hours.
Perfumed Products: Avoid using perfumed lotions, shower gels, or creams on the treated area until it has fully healed. Only use Aloe Vera Gel recommended by the clinic.
Infection Prevention: To prevent contamination:
Avoid touching the treated area.
Do not let the treated area come into contact with unsterile surfaces.
Be cautious around pets and children to prevent them from touching the area.
Ensure bedding, towels, and pillowcases are clean.
No Picking or Scratching:
Do not touch, pick, or scratch the treated area, including any scabbing or blistering.
Hydration and Rest: Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and ensure you get ample rest after your treatment to aid recovery. Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
Alcohol and Smoking: Alcohol and smoking can delay the healing process, so it is advised to avoid during your healing period.
Your skin must be fully healed before your next treatment. A minimum of 8 weeks is required between sessions, although up to 12 weeks may be recommended. Always follow both pre-treatment and post-treatment advice before each session to ensure the best results and avoid complications. If the skin is still pink, tender, or showing any other signs of healing, it is important to reschedule your appointment and allow more time for recovery. Inform your practitioner of any changes in your medical history before each treatment. Also, notify them if you've recently had or plan to have any other treatments.

FAQs
-
Laser tattoo removal requires multiple sessions, spaced several weeks apart for the best results.
While each treatment helps break down more ink particles, the total number of sessions needed varies by individual and cannot be guaranteed.
Complete removal may not always be possible, as results depend on several factors, including tattoo size, ink colors, skin type, body location, and individual response to treatment.
Some tattoos may fade significantly or even disappear, while others may only partially respond. The laser targets ink particles in the upper layers of the skin. However, if ink was applied with heavy pressure, causing it to penetrate deeper into the subcutaneous fat layer, it may be more challenging to fully break down, and complete removal may be more difficult to achieve.
Your progress will be carefully evaluated during each session, and the laser settings will be adjusted as needed based on the fading results and your skin’s response.
-
Results from Laser Tattoo Removal vary widely based on factors like tattoo size, ink colours, skin type, location on the body, and your individual response to treatment.
While some tattoos may fade significantly or even disappear entirely, others may only partially respond to the treatment.
Laser energy targets ink particles in the upper layers of the skin (dermis). However, if the tattoo artist applied heavy pressure during tattooing, causing ink to penetrate into deeper layers, such as the subcutaneous fat layer, it may be more challenging for the laser to reach and break down all the ink particles. In these cases, complete removal may not be achievable.
Since results are influenced by multiple factors, the number of sessions required and the possibility of complete removal cannot be guaranteed.
-
Laser Tattoo Removal works by emitting very short and intense pulses of light energy. This energy is absorbed by the tattoo ink pigments in the skin.
The laser energy causes the tattoo ink to heat up and shatter into tiny particles. These smaller ink particles are now small enough for the body's immune system to gradually remove.
Over the following weeks and months, the body's immune system starts to recognise the fragmented ink particles as foreign substances and gradually flushes them out of the body through the lymphatic system.
-
Laser Tattoo Removal sessions are typically a minimum of 8 weeks apart to allow the skin to heal and for the body to eliminate the fragmented ink particles.
The skin must be fully healed before continuing treatment. Some individuals may be required to wait longer, due to varying individual factors and healing response.

Laser Tattoo Removal is not pain-free. Most clients experience minor levels of discomfort - it is uncomfortable, but bearable and anaesthetics are not required.
Common descriptions include the sensation of a rubber band snapping against the skin.
If you could handle the pain of getting a tattoo, you shouldn't have a problem with this process. Laser Tattoo Removal is also much quicker than getting a tattoo.
You may apply ice packs to the area post-treatment to help alleviate any discomfort.
-
The length of a Laser Tattoo Removal appointment depends on the size of the tattoo. A small tattoo might take 5 minutes, where a large, or multiple tattoos could take an hour or more. Your practitioner will be able to advise you during your consultation.
-
Yes - please shave the area to be treated the day before or on the day of treatment.
-
Unlike many other types of laser systems, our advanced, medical-grade systems are able to safely treat any skin type, ranging from fair, olive, brown and black skin tones.
-
No - all traces of tanning products must be removed from the treatment area before your laser session. This includes all fake tanning agents, gradual tanning moisturisers, oils and lotions. This is because fake tan acts as pigmentation on the skin - which could cause complications with your treatment.
You may use self tan on other body areas - you just need to avoid your desired treatment area.
-
Laser Tattoo Removal itself does not typically cause scarring if you follow the pre and post treatment advice correctly; however, it can reveal pre-existing scars from the original tattooing process.
The process of getting a tattoo involves inserting needles into the skin, which can sometimes lead to scarring, especially if the skin is sensitive or if the tattooing technique was particularly aggressive.
In many cases, ink masks or hides these scars, making them less noticeable. As the laser removes the ink, it exposes the underlying skin, which may reveal any pre-existing scarring that was already present.
Our specialists will discuss this possibility with you during your consultation so that you are fully informed before beginning treatment.

After Laser Tattoo Removal, it’s normal to experience some temporary side effects as the skin heals. Here’s what you might expect:
Warmth, Redness, Swelling, Itching, Irritation, and Tenderness: These symptoms are common and may appear immediately after treatment or within a few days. They usually resolve on their own.
Scabbing, Swelling, and Minor Bleeding: These may also occur but are temporary. It's important to let scabs heal naturally—do not pick or scratch them.
Crust Formation (‘Dirty Skin’ Appearance): The treated area may darken or become crusty as it heals, which is a normal part of the process.
Blisters: Blisters can form as part of the healing process. Avoid picking, scratching, or bursting them to prevent infection. Instead, keep the area clean and dry, allowing blisters to heal naturally.
To support your healing, we provide full pre- and post-treatment instructions. This guidance is explained in detail at your clinic visit, emailed to you in advance, and provided as a printed copy to take home. Following these instructions will help promote a smooth recovery and minimise downtime.
